Jay Eggleston Injury Press Release

7/25/11 �?Official Press Release - On Saturday July 23rd, while competing in Ocean City, MD at the Pantech Open of the Dew Tour, professional BMX Vert Rider Jay Eggleston crashed and hit the flat bottom of the ramp.

Jay Eggleston is a Colorado native who has ridden BMX Vert professionally for over a decade and is respected world wide as one of the nicest guys who is always hitting the highest airs on any ramp.

As a result of the crash Jay was rendered unconscious. Due to the immediate reaction and care of the onsite medical staff Jay received excellent care. He was immediately transported to the nearest Trauma Center where doctors continue to monitor his progress and work towards healing. As of 11:00 pm PST 7/25/11 Jay still remains unconscious.

The Athlete Recovery Fund (ARF) is working with Melissa Eggleston (his wife) and family to make sure they can be by his side. At this time the ARF has provided a hotel and rental car for Jay's wife and four month old daughter so that all they need to be concerned about is Jay. The ARF will continue to work with the family to assist in understanding the effects of brain injury and share in our education learned from helping others like Mike Aitken (Pro BMX Dirt Jumper) and Adam Taylor (Pro Vert Skater).
