ARF has been campaigning for companies who market in action sports (manufactures, shoe companies, drink companies, accessory companies, etc.) to donate what they can as an investment in the athletes that help their companies survive, but these tough economic times had slowed the flow of donations. Many of the companies think they have to donate a certain amount when all that matters is that they participate on any level. If everyone kicks in a little ARF will be able to accomplish its long term goals ahead of schedule.

There is some huge news coming out soon from another company getting involved and contributing to ARF. Let's hope this opens the flood gates and get more companies involved! It's amazing how fast the fund will grow as more companies start to participate. We have barely scratched the surface and already been able to accomplish so much!

At the Cleveland stop on the Dew Tour in 2008 ARF had only been introduced to the public and the athletes for about a month. During that week of competition ARF assisted two athletes in need. One was professional FMX rider Greg Hartman. I just received this awesome update from him by email:

Aaron!
Hey just wanted to let you know that my head has cleared up and I'm feeling great. It's been six months of speech therapy and trying to remember who I was. It's been the most depressing, down time of my entire life. To go from X Games medals, and making awesome money, to going to speech therapy wondering if you'll ever be able to focus again sucks.

Last time I rode I still felt cloudy and I decided to give it more time to heal. Well that was a month and a half ago and it was 45 degrees yesterday in PA so I decided to give it a go. I felt great! I wasn't feeling fuzzy at all and felt like myself on my bike. I ended up jumping ramps and flipping 75 feet. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but in our sport everybody flips to get anywhere. It's been 6 months for me and after re learning how to walk and talk I was so nervous. No foam pits, no special jumps, just flipped the ramp at my house and it made me feel like myself again. I feel like myself and I can leave this mess behind me. I welcome 09 and look forward to competing in it.

Thanks for everything you guys did for my wife and for taking care of her when I didn't even know my own name. We're forever thankful and I look forward to supporting ARF every chance I get. What ARF stands for is awesome and I hope that it grows to where we can truly take care of each other. Thanks so much man,>br> Greg Hartman

Thank you Hartman family! Your email makes all the effort worthwhile! Can't express how stoked I am to hear your back!
